Getting Started

In February, Mayor Taylor and I met to discuss a variety of issues related to neighborhoods.  One of my notes read 'zoning/schmoning' because land use issues are difficult for the lay person (anyone who isn't a city official, land use attorney, realtor or developer) to understand.  This is compounded by the short timeframe in which neighborhoods have to get up to speed when an issue arises.

During our conversation, the Mayor mentioned a new idea for a working group to address these types of issues and asked if I would be willing to serve.  I was thrilled to have an opportunity to find and implement workable solutions with others who have extensive knowledge and experience in land use issues.  So, of course, I said ~ YES!!!

In early March, the Mayor issued a memo establishing the Land Use Communications Task Force.  The memo clearly establishes goals and these were adopted as the group's mission at our first meeting on Wednesday, March 11.

This is your opportunity to let us know how to make the system work for YOU!  Please e-mail your suggestions directly to Councilor Christiansen who is chairing the Task Force or Task Force member, Julie Hall

I look forward to hearing from you!
Julie H. Hall, Chair
